Food Page
Columbine students bring their own
lunches to school. Please send healthy lunches without caffeine. Also, please don't send candy to share. Mondays
and Fridays give you an opportunity to forego packing a lunch. Read on...
Pizza Day
You can elect to substitute pizza
for your child's lunch on Mondays. The 7th & 8th graders use Pizza Day to fund their annual class trip. The
meal includes pizza, fresh fruit or vegetables, dessert, and a drink.
Pay in advance by semester. If your child eats two or less pieces of pizza per week, send $50. If your child is
in the upper grades, or is just really hungry, send $60 per semester for a third piece.
Hot Lunch
Each Friday, parent volunteers prepare
a hot meal for the children. Older students serve the others. The 5th through 8th grade classes do kitchen clean
up.
Cost is $3 per week payable in advance by semester. The price is based on the number of Thursdays in the semester
and will be published in the newsletter.
This is a fundraiser for the Home & School Association. (Our version of a PTA.)
CCS reimburses the parent volunteers for out of pocket expenses up to a pre approved limit. A binder of meal ideas
and quantities is available in the kitchen.
Sign up on the parent
board or use the Contact Us
form.
Team up with another parent:
To divide the
preparation tasks,
If you're able
to prepare a meal but are unable
to be at the school at lunch time, or
If you haven't
done this before and want some experience.
The weekly newsletter tells us the upcoming menu and parent volunteer(s).
Many thanks to the parents
that help with this program!
