Chuck Wagon

Each September, just before the cowboy
poetry gathering, Poverty Flats Chuck Wagon rolls onto our playground. TJ Taylor and his parents, Lavenia and Vince,
join Doc Baxtrom to take us back to the Old West. Students spend the day collecting firewood, tending fires, and
cooking. (mixed in with reading, writing and 'rithmetic.)

School is dismissed as usual, but most
students return with their friends and families at 5:30 for dinner. After all, it's a chance for parents to test
the day's work!! With the help of Poverty Flats, the food always scores high.
After the traditional cowboy meal, there are pony rides and a stick horse rodeo before we all ride off into the
sunset.
