District 9-R offers a part time enrollment option called shared school. By registering in the shared school program, CCS students receive a minimum of 6 hours of instruction per week in non-core subjects from 9-R teachers. What exactly does that look like for Columbine students?   Grades K-6: Each Thursday at 9:30, a district school bus transports students to Needham Elementary School to receive instruction in PE, computers and library. It is important that students come prepared for these classes by wearing PE shoes and returning library books on time. In addition, K-6 students receive instruction during the week in Spanish, art, music and Wilderness Education. Grades 7-8: A district school bus picks up 7th & 8th grade students Friday mornings at 9am and transports them to the computer lab in the 9-R administration building. In addition, mid-school students receive instruction during the week in health, Spanish, community leadership skills and an arts elective.
