Jim Hughes - Grades

Foremost, I value a personal relationship
with each of my students. My goal as a teacher is to create memorable experiences for students in an academically
challenging, spiritually inspiring and physically involved environment that feels safe.
A principal intention in my classroom is creating a safe environment where making mistakes is acceptable and understood
as part of experimentation and the learning process. A major part of a safe classroom is working together as a
family, and we build family through regular team building activities. |

| In conjunction with standard school work
my students are involved in many hands on activities: primitive living skills (such as: friction fire making, cordage,
and primitive tool making.), nature awareness, outdoor exploration, team building, and community service to list
a few. |
